In Almaty, from October 18 to 24, within the framework of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan" and the city campaign "Zharkyn Kuz", a Plastic Reboot campaign was held to collect plastic containers. During the week, residents of the city handed over 26,950 pieces of plastic, showing their interest in improving the environmental situation. Residents of Zhetysu and Almaly districts were the most active.
The Plastic Reboot campaign is aimed at popularizing the idea of recycling and forming a culture of separate waste collection. The plastic containers collected during this campaign will be sent for recycling, which will reduce the amount of plastic waste that has a negative impact on nature.
Also, the campaign to collect caps from plastic bottles "Kind Lid" continues in the city, which takes place in urban educational institutions. The campaign will last until December of this year, kindergarten students, schoolchildren and students are actively involved in it. The organizers emphasize that children play an important role in the eco-project, as through their participation a responsible attitude to nature is formed from an early age.
The result of collecting the lids will be the creation of a unique Christmas tree, in the manufacture of which recycled plastic will be used. This symbolic art object will be installed on one of the city squares for the New Year holidays in order to draw the attention of citizens to the importance of recycling and an ecological lifestyle.
