The implementation of the republican program "Taza Kazakhstan" continues in Almaty, within the framework of which the Clean Air campaign is taking place. This initiative is aimed at combating air pollution from motor vehicles, which is one of the main sources of toxic emissions in megacities.
As part of the campaign, during the period from October 30 to November 8 of this year, together with employees of the Police Department, 882 cars were checked at mobile environmental posts located both in the city center and on its outskirts. The main purpose is to monitor the level of toxicity and smokiness of vehicle exhaust gases. This is especially important in Almaty, where motor transport accounts for a significant part of the polluting factors.
The monitoring results showed that 45% of the tested cars, namely 398, do not meet environmental standards, their emissions exceed acceptable standards. This highlights the need to strengthen control and increase the environmental responsibility of car owners.
In this regard, administrative protocols were drawn up against violators. And 11 cars in which repeated violations were detected had their state license plates seized until the malfunctions were fixed in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses. They will not be able to continue operation until the exhaust problems are fixed.
These measures are an important step in improving the environmental situation in Almaty and contribute to reducing air pollution. It is expected that increased control will increase the level of responsibility of drivers and contribute to improving air quality in the city.
