The 41st meeting of the member states of the International Organization for the Development of Turkic Culture and Art TURKSOY was held in Ashgabat.
The event was attended by Secretary General TURKSOY Sultan Raev, representatives of the cultural sector from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, as well as heads of international organizations and other honored guests.
The main focus of the meeting was on the development of Turkic culture and the strengthening of fraternal relations between the Turkic states. The participants discussed and made decisions to intensify joint efforts in preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples.
Plans of events dedicated to the designation of Aktau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2025, the promotion of the common cultural heritage of the Turkic world and issues of sustainable cooperation were discussed.
The Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture considered all the recommendations and proposals received from the Member States and, taking them into account, approved the TURKSOY Activity Program for the coming 2025. The decisions taken will contribute to a better understanding of the common history of the peoples of the Turkic world, as well as the further development of cultural and interstate ties.
In addition, the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan was appointed coordinator of the 42nd meeting of Ministers of TURKSOY, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
