Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Yermek Kosherbayev met with the Ambassador of Israel to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic Edwin Nathan Yabo Glusman.
He has extensive experience in diplomatic work in a number of countries in Europe, Latin America, and the UN General Assembly. The trade turnover between the East Kazakhstan region and the state of Israel amounted to 16.6 million US dollars last year. The main share of imports of goods is occupied by products of the chemical industry and related industries, including rubber and plastics. There are two enterprises with the participation of Israel operating in the region.
The Head of the region acquainted the Ambassador with the main directions of socio-economic development of East Kazakhstan region. The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of medicine, tourism, and the development of innovative technologies.
In Ust-Kamenogorsk, Edwin Nathan Yabo Glusman will hold a series of meetings with representatives of the business community. He is also scheduled to give a lecture at the Kazakh-American Free University on innovation in education.
