Due to population growth, important social facilities are being built in the Tupkaragan district of the Mangystau region.
To provide water to the district center - Fort Shevchenko, the villages of Bautino and Atash, a seawater desalination plant with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters per day is being built. Currently, the work has been completed by 80%. Today, salt water is supplied to these settlements through a pipeline, and fresh water from underground sources is delivered by special carriers. By the end of the year, the plant will be operating at full capacity, and desalinated water will be transported to residents via a pipeline.
Another important project aimed at improving the infrastructure of the district is the construction of a new sewage treatment system for the treatment of 1,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day. This project is 95% completed and will be put into operation in the near future.
