The IX republican championship "WorldSkills Kazakhstan-2024" has ended in Astana. Over the course of five days, more than 400 young professionals from all regions of the country demonstrated their skills in 30 competencies. The Abai region was represented at the competition by 32 students from eight colleges and 30 experts.
The region performed well, repeating the success of last year and taking first place in the team competition with a score of 39 points. The participants won 2 gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze medals, as well as 7 medallions for professionalism. Among the competencies where the team showed itself most vividly were Mechatronics, where two teams performed, as well as 29 other areas where the region was represented by one participant each.
The winners of the republican stage had the opportunity to represent Kazakhstan at the international EuroSkills 2025 championship, which will be held from September 9 to 13 in Denmark.
It should be noted that this is not the first success of the region's team at the national level. Last year, at the "WorldSkills Kazakhstan-2023", students of the Abai region also showed outstanding results, winning 6 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze medals and 12 medallions for professionalism.
These achievements were made possible due to the high level of training of students and the effective work of colleges in the region. Regional authorities and educational institutions continue to create conditions for the development of professional skills of young people, which strengthens the position of the region as one of the leaders of vocational education in Kazakhstan.
