Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Jaslan Madiyev held a number of meetings aimed at developing cooperation in the field of information technology, digitalization and innovation within the framework of a working trip to Serbia.
One of the key meetings was with Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic. The parties discussed the development of joint projects in the field of GovTech, cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, telecommunications and innovation. An agreement was reached on cooperation with Astana Hub, presentation of the advantages of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) and study of Serbian practices in the export of IT services.
The Minister visited the State Data Processing Center (GCD) in Kragujevac, which has become an example of an effective digital infrastructure. The GCD is certified according to the European Tier IV standard, which confirms its reliability, safety and effectiveness. The Center provides services not only for public administration, but also for large IT companies such as Oracle, IBM and Huawei, which strengthens Serbia's technological reputation.
Serbia's experience in integrating into the CERN global computing network was also discussed. Serbia has become the seventh country in Europe and the tenth in the world to join this network. The data processed in the GCD are used for international scientific research, which is also of interest to Kazakhstan.
The Serbian side highly appreciated the digital achievements of Kazakhstan, in particular, the ambitious plans presented by our delegation for the development of artificial intelligence.
Serbia, which demonstrates the growth of the IT sector (exports of services in 2024 amounted to almost 4 billion euros), has become a promising partner for Kazakhstan. Cooperation in the field of digitalization, science and innovation strengthens bilateral ties and opens up new opportunities for the technological development of both countries.
