More than 200 appeals about drug graffiti were received through the "No Drugs" service in Astana. Since the beginning of the year, the Metropolitan Police Department has registered over 1,000 criminal offenses in the field of illicit drug trafficking, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
To strengthen the fight against drugs, the Astana City Police Department, together with the Astana Center for Sustainable Development, developed the "No Drugs" information service, launched on the Smart Astana and E-knot applications platform.
The service allows the user, when detecting signs of drug graffiti, to send a photo of the inscription in two clicks, while the program itself will determine its geolocation and send all data to the Astana Police Department.
In order to use the service and assist in the fight against advertising and drug trafficking, the following steps must be performed:
1. Install the Smart Astana app through the App Store or Google Play and register.
2. In the application on the main page, select the "Popular" section.
3. Go to the "Send a No drugs appeal" subsection.
4. Fill out the application form: specify the phone number, full name, address (street, house number), the text of the application, and attach photos or video materials documenting the violation.
5. Send an appeal — the information will be automatically sent to the Department of the Local Police Service (UMPS) of the DP of Astana city for immediate consideration and appropriate measures.
It is worth noting that all requests will be processed promptly, and response measures will be taken for each violation in accordance with the law.
Note that the app is available to all iOS and Android users.
Since the beginning of the service, 212 messages about drug graffiti have been received from concerned citizens, about 200 drug sites have been sent to block.
We urge residents of the city to actively use the "No Drugs" service and thereby contribute to ensuring public safety and countering drug crime.
