CONSTANT WORK IS UNDERWAY IN TURKESTAN TO COMBAT HIV INFECTION

Work is underway on an ongoing basis in the Turkestan region to combat HIV infection. Since the beginning of the year, specialists of the regional "Center for HIV Prevention and Control" have organized various meetings and actions with the population of the region, conducted explanatory work on the prevention of infectious diseases. This was announced by the head of the regional HIV prevention center Bakytzhan Zhuzzhasarov at a briefing with media representatives.
"In ten months of 2024, 10 actions, 2 sports events, and 15 open days were held in the region. In addition, 25 training seminars were organized in educational institutions and places of public services, 3 round tables in medical institutions and socially significant places," the head of the Center said.
As a result of the work done in the region, the infection rate has decreased. Since the beginning of the year, 96 cases of HIV infection have been registered in the region. Of these, 4 citizens are foreigners. Deputy head of the center Dauren Ryskeldiev said that 107 cases of infection with infectious diseases were detected in 10 months of last year.
