TURKESTAN SUMMED UP THE RESULTS OF A PROJECT AIMED AT DEVELOPING LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT IN RURAL AREAS

The results of the project "The role of non-governmental organizations in the development of local self-government in rural areas" were summed up in Turkestan. The solemn event at the House of Friendship was attended by Deputy Akim of the region Yertai Altaev, who noted that this is an important step towards strengthening the local government system. He also congratulated the winners of the project, which will play a key role in the development of the region.
The project, implemented within six months, was organized by the Department of Public Development of the Turkestan region. During the project, training seminars were held for NGOs on the topics: "Civil society mechanisms: local government and public control" and "Skills for preparing a social project". In addition, an "analytical report" on assessing the needs of non-governmental organizations in the region and a brochure "mechanisms of public participation to solve the problems of the local community" were published.
The event was attended by the founder of the Association of Legal Entities "Civil Alliance of Turkestan region", public figure Sharipbek Zhamalbekuly, president of the association in the form of the Association of legal entities "Civil Alliance of Turkestan region" Inara Namazbayeva and wished continued work in this direction. During the event, the works of the winners of this project were presented to the public and awarded a special prize.
It should be noted that this project has been implemented in the region for two years. This year, in order to improve the economic well-being of districts and cities, applications for grants were received from 22 people, 12 of whom were recognized as the best. They received support from the state in the amount of 300 thousand to 1 million tenge. In order to improve the welfare of non-governmental organizations, small grants totaling 7 million tenge were issued.
