As of November 1, 2024, 403 thousand people from 76 thousand families have been assigned targeted social assistance (hereinafter referred to as TSA). This year, 54.7 billion tenge has been allocated from the budget for these purposes.
As previously reported, the main goal of the TSA is to get the family out of a difficult life situation by providing support in the form of cash payments and involving able–bodied family members in active measures to promote employment.
The TSA provides for:
- quarterly assignment of social assistance to citizens whose income does not exceed 70% of the regional subsistence level;
- provision of monthly additional payments to children from low-income families aged 1 to 6 years inclusive in the amount of 1.5 MCI (5,538 tenge) per child. On November 1 of this year, an additional payment was assigned to 126 thousand preschool children from among the recipients of the TSA in the amount of 4.5 billion tenge;
- promoting employment through employment, providing grants to families motivated to start their own business, referrals to advanced training courses (if necessary) and others.
Currently, Kazakhstanis can apply for the appointment of an ASP by contacting the career center, the akim of the rural district at their place of residence or through the e-government portal (egov.kz ).
