Kazakhstan plans to develop transport and transit corridors in the CIS+ format

On November 19, 2024, in Moscow, within the framework of Transport Week, Lastaev Talgat Tleubekovich, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in a number of key events aimed at developing regional and international transport cooperation.
Within the framework of the Plenary Discussion "CIS Plus Transport Cooperation: interconnectedness, sustainability, efficiency", key issues of strengthening transport links between the CIS states and neighboring regions were discussed. In his speech, Talgat Lastayev stressed the importance of forming a sustainable and efficient transport system that contributes to increasing the volume of cargo transportation, developing the transit potential of countries and deepening economic integration.
At the 44th meeting of the Coordination Transport Meeting (CCC) of the CIS member states, issues of promoting the development of international logistics, digitalization of transport processes, prospects for transportation by road and urban passenger transport, as well as directions for further cooperation in the transport sector between the Commonwealth countries were considered. The main issue of the meeting is the expansion of the powers of the Coordinating Transport Meeting (CCC) of the CIS member states.
In addition, the Vice Minister took part in the 8th meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies in the field of transport of the EAEU member States. The participants discussed the main directions and stages of the implementation of the coordinated transport policy of the Union, including the development of transport corridors, the implementation of infrastructure projects and initiatives to deepen cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
These events demonstrated the commitment of the Republic of Kazakhstan to strengthening integration processes and developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the transport sector. Kazakhstan will continue to actively participate in the implementation of strategic projects aimed at creating a single transport space that will contribute to the sustainable economic growth of the region.
