In the irrigation period of 2024, the branch of Kazvodkhoz in the Turkestan region fully provided 332.5 thousand hectares of acreage with water. This was announced at the site of the regional communications service by the director of the branch Kazybek Bedebayev.
In total, the branch concluded contracts for the supply of irrigation water with 8,170 farms in the region. The main volume of supplied water fell on the main channels "Dostyk" and "Kyzylkum".
To prepare for the irrigation season, the branch carried out mechanized cleaning of 265 channels with a total length of 560.96 km.
"During the irrigation season, there were no complaints from farmers about water shortages. Water was sent to agricultural producers in the required volume. In addition, peasant farms welcomed the news about the increase in subsidies with joy. This year, agrarian Zhamantai Beisenbayev installed water–saving systems on 10 thousand hectares of cotton fields," Kazybek Bedebayev, director of the Kazvodkhoz branch in Turkestan region, said.
