The development of self-government in schools of the capital was discussed with the participation of the leaders of the student parliaments of Astana

Astana hosted a meeting of the leaders of school parliaments with representatives of the youth maslikhat of the capital on the development of self-government in educational institutions of the city, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The meeting was held within the framework of the V International Scientific and practical Conference "The social code of the school: the experience of integration in modern conditions". On the final day of the conference, the leaders of the school parliaments of the Saryarka metropolitan district discussed with representatives of the youth Maslikhat of Astana the need to develop civil society through the support of student self-government in the capital's schools.
Young activists presented their projects, voiced proposals on effective methods of organizing work on the formation of self-government and the participation of children and youth in the public life of the city.
"I think this is a great opportunity for everyone who participated in today's meeting to gain new knowledge and broaden their horizons. We learned how our state and the education system work. We are happy to help our country and will continue our work not only during our school years, but also when we become students," said Nadira Ryskulova, one of the participants.
Olga Toderash, the organizer of the meeting and a member of the Astana Public Council, said that a civic position is formed during school years and student self-government helps the younger generation to show independence and initiative.
"Today we talked about the topic of school self-government as one of the tools for the formation of civic engagement. We want to educate a society with an active civic position so that young people are aware and active. The foundation of leadership and the ability to work in a team is laid from school. We also wanted to show the young activists how the Maslikhat and the Public Council work. This is a good example for the younger generation," she stressed.
The meeting on the topic "School self–government - the basis for the formation of an active civic position of society" was held with the participation of guests from Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
