A scientific and practical conference on the theme "The role of maslikhats in building a Just Kazakhstan: history, present and future" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the maslikhats of Kazakhstan was held in Turkestan. The event was attended by public figures, deputies of the Senate and Mazhilis of the Parliament, former chairmen of maslikhats, veterans and deputies of the Turkestan region.
Akim of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy in his welcoming speech noted the importance of maslikhats in the development of society and their contribution to the development of the region:
– Alash activist Akhmet Baitursynov said: "The work of the nation is a big deal: many workers are needed for a big deal." This statement fully reflects the role of maslikhats in society. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the maslikhats to establish close cooperation with the people and public organizations to resolve topical issues. This is our common task. Today, more than 300 deputies work in regional and local maslikhats, most of whom are entrepreneurs. They should actively participate in attracting investments and promoting entrepreneurship among the population. Deputies need knowledge, character and, most importantly, patriotism. It is a great responsibility to justify the trust of more than two million residents of the region. I congratulate you on your anniversary and wish you success in your work," Darkhan Satybaldy stressed.
At the opening of the conference, Senate Deputy Murat Kadyrbek read out a congratulatory letter from Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev, and Deputy of the Mazhilis Yerlan Abdiyev conveyed a welcome message from Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan Koshanov.
The conference was moderated by the rector of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Zhanar Temirbekova. During the event, topics such as the role of maslikhats, increasing the activity of deputies and other topical issues were discussed.
Among the speakers were President of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurynov, Chairman of the NGO "Association of Deputies of Maslikhats of Kazakhstan" Toleubek Mukashev and Professor of Public Administration from Turkey Harun Kirylmaz. Chairman of the Turkestan regional maslikhat Nuraly Abishev spoke about the current work of the maslikhats and congratulated colleagues on the anniversary.
Public figures Orazkul Asangazy and President of the Foundation for the Development of Parliamentarism in Kazakhstan Zauresh Battalova shared their experiences and noted the high degree of responsibility of deputies. They wished the deputies success and expressed confidence in their significant contribution to the development of society.
As part of the solemn event, a number of citizens were awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Turkestan region", as well as awards from the Ministries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Senate of the Parliament and the Association of Deputies of the Maslikhats of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the conference, those present at this meeting planted tree seedlings in the alley "30 years of maslikhats of Kazakhstan".
