23 PLANNED FLOOD CONTROL ORDERS HAVE BEEN EXECUTED IN THE TURKESTAN REGION

The Turkestan region is constantly monitoring the progress of flood prevention. A special plan has been developed and appropriate work is underway. Today, this issue was once again discussed in the regional akimat, and preparations were worked out. Governor of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy instructed those responsible to fully comply with security measures and keep channels and water sources under control.
- Spring comes early in the Turkestan region. In regions where mountain snow is melting and water is melting, it is now necessary to strengthen training and clean ditches and deltas in a timely manner. Check all channels, akimats of districts, cities together with the responsible department and the department. The water bodies and reservoirs included in the plan should be repaired and the protective dams adjusted. Use the available special equipment and strengthen flood safety," Darkhan Satybaldy said.
In the Mazhilis, the acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel of Civil Defense Asker Sarbatov reported on the work done. In the region, 23 of the 39 events of the plan "winter-spring flood control engineering measures 2024-2025" have been fully completed, work continues on 5 events. As a result, 66.1 km of sliding channels were mechanically cleaned. 14 kilometers of the slope have been cleared of ash, 350 meters have been concreted. 1.9 kilometers of the canal were straightened and dug. In addition, 3 pieces of hoses were installed and 4 roadside pipelines were replaced.
In general, 461 km of irrigation ditches (in the amount of -1203), 654 km of canals (in the amount of -165), 30 km of crossings have been cleared in the region outside the engineering plan. 263 units of equipment are involved in carrying out these works. 109 thousand bags, 1,416 tons of inert material were prepared for the period of the waterway, and in case of an emergency threat, 67 memoranda were signed with large entrepreneurs for food and related needs, 141 tons of fuel were prepared.
According to Sanjar Burlibayev, head of the Department of Mobilization Training, Territorial Defense and Civil Protection of the Turkestan region, 23 flood control measures have been fully completed on behalf of the akim of the region. Work is underway to provide technical support for areas, diversion, regulation, and dredging of riverbeds. All flood-prone areas are under control and appropriate safety measures are in place. Design and estimate documentation has been compiled for the repair and regulation of some water bodies.
Flood prevention activities continue all year round.
