The readiness of the emergency services of the region for emergency situations in winter was checked by Akim of the Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev and head of the emergency Department Margulan Amanbayev.
The exercises began with an inspection of special equipment. Police units, highway safety organizations, military rescue services and the Disaster Medicine Center lined up behind the Shakhtar Stadium in Karaganda.
Rescuers have prepared 76 units of high-passable and engineering equipment for winter work. All-terrain vehicles and shift vehicles will be involved. The fleet of the Department of Emergency Situations and regional civil protection services is updated annually at the expense of the republican and local budgets. Three high–speed all-terrain vehicles have recently been purchased. They are used for search and rescue operations, evacuation of people.
"Now the readiness of all structures is being checked: the emergency Department, the police, the National Guard, akimats of all districts and cities, road services. We can attract more than 5,000 people and thousands of pieces of equipment for rescue operations," says Margulan Amanbayev, head of the Emergency Department.
In the Karaganda region, 590 snow-bearing sections with a length of 574 kilometers have been taken under enhanced control. The work of 19 heating points and 6 highway medical and rescue points has also been organized. In case of an emergency, more than 300 roadside service facilities will be involved.
The exercises also took place on the highway in the Temirtau area. Here, rescuers practiced actions when rescuing people from a bus stuck in the steppe, and also searched for a missing person.
In total, more than 26 tactical and special exercises were held in the region, which demonstrated the work of the field control center: headquarters, medical centers, food, heating and psychological assistance were deployed.
