Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov signed a memorandum on the construction of 165 wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 gigawatt. This step will be an important stage in ensuring the energy independence of the region, which today experiences a shortage of energy for production facilities.
Today, electricity consumption in the region is 0.45 GW, while production is only 0.12 GW. The implementation of the new project will not only overcome this dependence, but also significantly increase the volume of electricity generation.
In addition, the new station provides not only the ability to generate electricity but also the accumulation of electricity in batteries with a capacity of 300 megawatts.
The advantages of renewable energy sources such as wind are not only their environmental friendliness, but also their economic benefits. The average wind speed in a number of areas of the region allows for the efficient use of wind turbines, which makes the Kostanay region attractive for the construction of wind farms.
Important aspects of the implementation of this project will be the creation of new jobs, attracting investment and sustainable development of the region. In addition, already implemented projects, such as the 48 MW wind farm in Arkalyk, demonstrate the region's potential in the field of renewable energy sources.
Kostanay region is actively moving towards developing its energy infrastructure, and we are confident that the implementation of the memorandum will be a significant contribution to the future of our region.
