Next year, 800 garbage sites will be renovated in Almaty. This was announced by the mayor of the megalopolis Yerbolat Dosayev during a working detour and a meeting with residents of the Bostandyk district.
"Next year, it is planned to modernize garbage sites. We will put them in order. I know that on weekends, starting from Friday, the situation becomes more complicated and the sites are overflowing with garbage," Yerbolat Dosayev said during a meeting with the population.
In total, it is planned to upgrade 800 garbage sites. Separately, Yerbolat Dosayev appealed to the residents of the city with a reminder not to throw out bulky garbage.
"We have fixed in the new rules that there will be severe punishment for this. We will also install cameras on garbage sites. This will allow us to quickly identify violators. Next year we will launch the first 400 cameras," the mayor added.
In accordance with the Rules of Municipal Waste Management, individuals and legal entities engaged in the construction and (or) repair of immovable objects must independently export construction and bulky waste (furniture, household appliances) to special designated places or must contact specialized organizations to remove garbage for a fee or independently deliver it to landfills located in Ili and Karasai districts of Almaty region.
