During a working trip to Almaly district, Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev inspected the renovated gymnasium school building No. 136 and a kindergarten opened at the expense of private investments.
Gymnasium No.136, which now has 750 students, was built in 1989. Major repairs in it for the first time in 35 years were carried out on behalf of the mayor of the city. The earthquake resistance of the building was also strengthened. The educational process resumed on October 2 of this year.
The Mayor of Almaty got acquainted with the updated classrooms of chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science. All classrooms are equipped with interactive panels and new furniture. The classrooms of the clubs and sports grounds were also renovated, the school grounds were landscaped and fenced, thus completely landscaped for a comfortable stay for schoolchildren.
"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to the education system, major repairs and construction of new schools. The reconstruction and modernization of earthquake-enhanced schools is one of our top priorities. We will continue to modernize other educational institutions, observing high quality standards," Yerbolat Dosayev said.
In general, eight schools have been renovated with seismic reinforcement in Almaty over the past year. In order to reduce the shortage of student places in the metropolis, the construction of a school in the MKR is underway. Zerdeli, five outbuildings in various districts, as well as major repairs with the reconstruction of six schools. In addition, the construction of 21 educational institutions under the national project "Comfortable School" continues.
Another facility visited by Yerbolat Dosayev as part of his work detour is the SANA URPAQ kindergarten. It is located according to an individual design on the ground floor between two residential buildings. The preschool is equipped for 11 groups and is equipped with new technologies, including interactive whiteboards, video surveillance cameras and modern equipment to maintain the health and development of children. There are additional classrooms for chess, pottery, a salt mine, taekwondo, choreography, gymnastics, music, a speech therapist and a psychologist.
As the Mayor of Almaty noted, this kindergarten is "a new type of center in which all public spaces are thoughtfully used."
It should be recalled that in order to increase the coverage of children with preschool education, three competitions were held in Almaty this year to place a state educational order for preschool education and training for 8,577 places. In 2025, it is planned to open 8 pre-school organizations with 1,920 places.
