A meeting dedicated to ensuring the safety of children in educational institutions of the city was held in the capital today, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The event was attended by Deputy Akim of Astana Eset Bayken, representatives of government agencies, including the departments of education and public health, the prosecutor's Office, the departments of the National Security Committee and the police, as well as specialists in the field of mental health.
During the meeting, they also talked about the activities of the Psychological Support Center (PSC), which was established in 2024 to provide assistance to children and teachers. One of the areas of the center's work is the "STOP Bullying" program, designed to prevent violence in schools. The Center actively develops training programs for employees of educational institutions, including seminars.
The system of school psychologists also continues to develop. This year, an additional 200 full-time psychologists were introduced in the city's public schools, which corresponds to the standard of one psychologist per 500-600 students. An important step was the testing of students for bullying and violence, as well as the creation of a "green corridor" for emergency care for children, including in cooperation with psychiatrists.
One of the significant issues discussed at the meeting was the observance of sanitary standards in educational institutions. The management of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the city reported on the measures taken to prevent cases of poisoning and other violations related to nutrition in educational institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the participants developed recommendations and instructions for further work. Among the priorities are to intensify preventive work with students and their families, strengthen cooperation between internal affairs agencies and educational institutions, and monitor the quality of nutrition in all public schools in the city.
