A pilot project is being launched in the capital's polyclinics with the introduction of digital mechanisms for identifying patient admission – checking using "Face ID" technology or confirming a 6-digit number via e-gov mobile, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
According to the metropolitan Department of Public Health, both city organizations and private clinics that have signed an agreement with the Social Health Insurance Fund participate in the project.
By the end of this year, the pilot project will show results in Astana, and from January 1 it is planned to scale it in stages throughout the republic. This will be an effective tool that will reduce the postscript. The biometric identification system will ensure accurate recording of the services provided, which will make it impossible to fake reports on patient visits, and, accordingly, prevent misuse of both budget funds and contributions from insured citizens.
As the head of the Department of Public Health Aliya Rustemova noted, the main purpose of the innovation is the exclusion of attributions of medical services in medical information systems.
"We have over one and a half million people attached to PHC organizations in Astana. All interested persons who have access to them are responsible for the safety of the personal data of patients. It is worth noting that the recorded photo of the patient is deleted automatically after identification and is not stored in the medical information system. In this regard, the leakage of patient data is impossible," she explained.
The project will increase the transparency of medical care at all levels.
At the first stage, the pilot project covered 47 organizations within the framework of digitalization of Astana. The information campaign among patients is organized by medical institutions.
Also, as part of the implementation of this pilot project, a Patient Support Service has been organized in medical organizations, where specialists are ready to provide all necessary information, including explanations on the pilot and answers to questions that arise.
