From November 24 to 30, Almaty will host one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year – the XVII International Eurasia Film Festival. The large–scale event will be opened by the film "We need a Doctor" - a family picture filled with subtle humor, deep emotions and life philosophy.
The plot centers on the doctor Nikolai Anatolyevich Grachev, who is celebrating his 70th birthday. His colleagues, patients and hospital management are preparing a warm and sincere holiday for him. However, behind the outward triumph lies the uneasy truth about human relationships, moral challenges and life lessons. Events develop unpredictably, which allows the viewer to plunge into the life of the medical team and experience difficult but sincere moments with them.
"We need a doctor" is more than just a doctor's story. This is a film about people who save lives every day, face dilemmas and try to stay true to their principles in a world full of change. Here everyone will find something close to them: kindness, pain, hope and, of course, faith in the power of the human spirit.
"A musical comedy inspired by the title of an old classic. This is a Broadway-type musical, because we don't just have songs, but songs move the plot further. There, every song has a meaning and promotes the story. I have not seen such films in Kazakhstan yet," said the film's director Ravil Trumov.

The characters, played by talented actors, come to life on the screen. Sharip Serik, Karina Kudekova, Karakat Bashanova and other artists filled their characters with sincerity and versatility.
The founder and organizer of the festival is traditionally the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The direct organization of the film festival is entrusted to the National Kazakhfilm Studio named after Shaken Aimanov.
