On the eve of the Republic Day, the military landing ship Shapshan, built in the Mangystau region, was launched into the Caspian Sea.
The ceremony was attended by Akim of Mangystau region Nurdaulet Kilybai, First Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov, Rear Admiral of the Armed Forces Ratmir Kamratov, military personnel and residents of the city.
The new water boat will serve to protect the national borders and unity of the country.
The First Deputy Minister of Defense noted that sending a combat boat to sea is a happy moment for Kazakhstani citizens. According to him, the first boat built in Mangystau demonstrates that the maritime potential of the region is developing rapidly.
- "In his message to the people, the President noted that the global production of military equipment plays a crucial role in the national defense system of developed countries. The modern age is a time of new technologies. This boat is a vivid proof of the high level of the engineering industry of our homeland," Sultan Kamaletdinov said.
The head of the region, Nurdaulet Kilybai, stressed that the historical event on the eve of the National Holiday, Republic Day, is the result of the hard work of scientists.
- Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev issued an instruction on the need to develop and deepen the Kazakh construction industry. And today we see the result. Domestic products produced in our region will protect peace in the country and contribute to the effective service of the naval forces. I would like to thank the citizens, specialists and builders who implemented this project. They proved their skills," the mayor expressed gratitude.
According to Dmitry Donskoy, director of Ship Equipment and Service LLP, who built the new boat, it is possible to build equipment not only for defense, but also for citizens, tourism, transport and emergency situations.
