In Almaty, the Almaty Creative Center hosted a meeting between Vice Minister of Culture and Information Yevgeny Kochetov and the creators. Directors, producers, and artists took part.
The meeting discussed topical issues in the field of creative industries: legislative initiatives, infrastructure development, import of Kazakhstani creative products.
"Supporting creative professionals is an investment in the future. Creative industries are shaping a new economy by creating unique products and strengthening cultural potential," said Bakhyt Yelyubayeva, Interim Director of Almaty Creative.
Also, within the framework of the meeting, the creators were awarded "Kurmet gramotasy" ("Certificate of Honor") from the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan for their contribution to the development of creative industries.
"Research in the field of creative economy is critically important for the development of the sector in Kazakhstan. For more than 7 years, my colleagues and I have been trying to complement the picture with high-quality applied research. This certificate is a confirmation that our work is appreciated by the Ministry and it is very important for me personally," shared Dana Shayakhmet, Project Manager for Creative Economics at Narkhoz University.
It should be noted that today Almaty is the center of creative industries in Kazakhstan. A third of the country's creative industries are registered here.
