The construction of an ecopark has begun on the territory of the former landfill in the Dostyk microdistrict. On behalf of the mayor of the city Gabit Syzdykbekov, a green zone with an area of 45 hectares will be created here, of which 38.6 hectares will be allocated for landscaping. Natural materials are used for construction. Bike paths will be built to match the natural landscape. And the pipes for the release of carbon dioxide are made in a suitable way.
From Ecopark playgrounds to sports facilities, 9 outdoor recreation areas are offered. More than 4,000 deciduous trees will be planted on the 10-kilometer promenade, creating a natural oasis atmosphere. A layer of soil 1.5 meters thick, enriched with organic fertilizers, is laid on top of the waste.
Investments in the project amounted to 5 billion tenge, the general sponsor is the Hexo Foundation. The completion of construction is scheduled for the end of 2025, all work will be carried out only within the framework of the social responsibility of business. Since the spring of this year, large-scale preparatory work has been carried out at the landfill: 250,000 cubic meters of soil have been laid, five wells with a depth of 120 meters have been drilled, and 500 meters of fences have been installed from the planned 3,000.
At the meeting with journalists, the name of the park was chosen and supported by the mayor of the city.
