A press conference was held in Almaty with members of the jury of the competition of the countries of Central Asia and the Turkic world of the XVII International Film Festival "Eurasia". The event brought together representatives of the global film industry. The participants discussed the uniqueness of the festival's film program and their attitude to the upcoming work.
The chairman of the jury of the Central Asian and Turkic World competition, Li Baohua, spoke about his expectations and expressed his expectations from the films of the participants.
"Yesterday, during the opening of the film festival, excerpts from films participating in the competition programs were shown. I think they are all worthy of high praise. I really liked them. In the coming days, I, as the chairman of the jury, as well as my colleagues, will get acquainted with all the films and give a real assessment," Li Baohua said.
Russian director Alexey Telnov, answering the question of the participants, expressed the hope that the presented paintings would be interesting.
"I want to point out that it was a great opening of the festival and that everything is very organized. We expect and hope that the presented paintings will surprise us," he said.
Moroccan director Abdelila El Jauhari emphasized the special importance of the film festival: "It was my dream to visit Kazakhstan. I only knew about Kazakhstan thanks to a few films earlier. But today, I am here with my colleagues to find out as much information as possible about Kazakh and Central Asian films."
The famous Kazakh actress Zhanna Kuanysheva stressed that "Eurasia" always reveals new names.
"We have to show our paintings to the whole world. And we have to watch what is happening in the world of cinema. Therefore, Eurasia is a wonderful event from this point of view."
The festival will last until November 30, giving viewers the opportunity to enjoy vivid stories and feel the breath of culture of Central Asia and the Turkic world.
The founder and organizer of the festival is traditionally the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The direct organization of the film festival is entrusted to the National Kazakhfilm Studio named after Shaken Aimanov.
