Aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in particular Kazaviaspas JSC, continues to demonstrate high efficiency and importance in ensuring safety and responding to emergencies. In this regard, the company's aircraft played a key role in rescue operations, disaster relief, humanitarian cargo transportation and provision of sanitary assistance.
Since the beginning of the year, Kazaviaspas JSC has carried out 2,537 sorties with a total flight time of 6,170 hours. Of these, 1,155 sorties were sent to perform tasks for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including search and rescue operations, fire extinguishing, inspection of dangerous areas and evacuation of people. The total flight time for these operations was 2,715 hours.
Seven crews of the Ministry of Emergency Situations actively participated in the rescue of people from flood-prone regions of Kazakhstan. They evacuated more than 2,000 people, including 425 children, and delivered more than 30 tons of humanitarian supplies to the affected areas. To effectively control the situation, 27 aerial visual surveys were conducted, which made it possible to identify dangerous areas in a timely manner and prevent possible threats.
Special attention was paid to flood relief in the regions of Kazakhstan, such as Ulytau, Kostanay, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Akmola, North Kazakhstan and Abaya. In these areas, rescue operations were carried out at a high level, and aircraft played a crucial role in delivering aid and evacuating citizens.
In 2024, helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations actively participated in extinguishing large forest and steppe fires. In particular, a large fire was extinguished in the Balkhash district of the Almaty region, where 130 water discharges totaling 390 tons were carried out. On the border of Pavlodar and Karaganda regions, a fire was extinguished on an area of 10,000 hectares with the help of aviation. This was made possible by the use of Bambi Bucket spillway devices on Airbus Helicopters. Helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted 29 water discharges using reservoirs and local water sources, which significantly accelerated the process of extinguishing the fire.
Air ambulance also proved its effectiveness in 2024. Helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were used to evacuate victims and hospitalize patients. One of the most striking examples is the evacuation of a tourist with a spinal injury from the Turgen Gorge in the Almaty region. In total, 395 air ambulance flights were carried out during the year, 356 patients with various injuries and diseases were transported.
This year, the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted unique exercises on extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings using aviation, which emphasized the high level of training and ability of the Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation to solve problems in difficult urban conditions.
The fleet has also been updated. At the end of the year, Kazaviaspas JSC received a new H145 D3 helicopter. In addition, pilot training courses are being conducted in the Czech Republic for the operation of the new L410 NG aircraft, which will soon be operational.
For 2020-2029, it is planned to purchase 58 aircraft units, including 26 aircraft and 32 helicopters, which will significantly strengthen the aviation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is planned to purchase 2 jet aircraft, 4 aircraft for inter-regional transportation and 20 aircraft for regional flights. These new tools will help improve emergency response efficiency and enhance overall security in the country.
Kazaviaspas JSC's fleet consists of 35 helicopters. In 2024, the company's activities once again confirmed its importance in the civil aviation system of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Working efficiently and promptly, the company solves the tasks of emergency response, rescue of people and delivery of humanitarian supplies. The use of modern technologies, innovative approaches in personnel training and the renewal of the aviation fleet allow the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan to remain ready for any challenges, strengthening safety and improving the well-being of citizens.
