The strengthening of cooperation between the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University named after S. Seifullin (KazATIU) and the National Accreditation Center (NCA) continues. On November 21, on the occasion of the end of the World Quality Week, which began on November 14, 2024, the NCA expert auditor gave a lecture for students of the Department of Standardization, Metrology and Certification "Global trends in the regulation of agricultural practices".
The lecture was a continuation of the cooperation between the relevant university and the NCA, which takes place on a regular basis.
In 2024, KazATIU and NCA held a series of joint events, including lectures on accreditation, an Open Day for students of the specialized department at NCA on June 10 and a Meeting of Generations on October 1, at which students had a unique opportunity to meet and talk with the founders and veterans of accreditation of Kazakhstan.
The lecture in honor of the Quality Week gathered more than 50 4th year students. During the lesson, they learned about advanced approaches to quality assurance in agriculture: GlobalG.A.P., Organic, Halal and Smart Farm. These standards and practices, successfully applied in developed countries, are gradually being implemented in Kazakhstan thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology and the NCA.
So, in 2023, the first Halal certification body for products and services was successfully accredited in the NCA. One of the participants of the seminar on the GlobalG.A.P. Good Agricultural practice standard, organized by the NCA, is currently undergoing language training to pass the international exam for an auditor and consultant on this standard. In addition, four NCA evaluators successfully passed the exam according to the GlobalG.A.P. standard, reaching or exceeding the threshold points, which opens up the possibility of becoming registered coaches according to this standard in the future.
NCA also actively conducts consulting work with domestic producers interested in the production of organic products. For this purpose, events are held aimed at developing the practice of Organic using exclusively Kazakhstani ingredients.
In addition, the NCA plans to form a personnel reserve of young specialists, which opens up new opportunities for graduates of the Departments of standardization, metrology and certification for professional growth and the acquisition of practical skills in accreditation.
The lecture aroused great interest among the students, and the teaching staff proposed to hold a number of similar lectures on the basis of the NCA in the format of dual training.
