A meeting of the investment headquarters in an updated format was held under the chairmanship of Akim of Zhambyl region Yerbol Karashukeyev.
In May of this year, the Zhambyl Invest directorate was established on the basis of SEC Taraz, providing service support for investment projects, starting from the search for an investor, concluding a contract before commissioning.
To date, 30 investment projects totaling 757 billion tenge are being supported by the directorate.
The directorate also began to actively work on developing the export potential of local producers, creating conditions for their products to enter foreign markets.
During the meeting, representatives of 8 foreign and domestic companies presented investment projects.
In the Kordai district, a foreign company plans to build a mining and metallurgical plant worth 61.1 billion tenge.
It is planned to build a lime production plant with a capacity of 48 thousand tons per year, a metallurgical plant (steel billets from ferrous metals), and establish the production of tempered glass at the site of the Taraz industrial zone.
Another metallurgical plant worth 367 billion tenge will be built in the Shusky district (SEZ "Jibek joly"). Wire rod, rebar, and steel for pipe production will be produced here.
A Chinese company plans to launch an assembly line for the production of modern tractors in the regional center.
Another project is being implemented at the site of a small industrial zone - the production of drip irrigation systems together with the participation of a Turkish company.
In the Shusky district, Sany Renewable Energy Co. Ltd is implementing a project to build a plant that will produce components of wind turbines. The design capacity is 1 GW WPP equipment.
It is planned to launch electric taxis and install power plants in Taraz. At the initial stage, the company acquired 40 electric cars and 10 electric buses.
A project for the construction of a hotel complex worth 8.2 billion tenge was also discussed
As a result of the implementation of all these projects, it is planned to create about 2,000 new jobs.
- The Head of State instructed to strengthen the work in order to prevent a decrease in the volume of direct investments in the economy. Attention should be paid to the need for timely and high-quality fulfillment of assigned tasks. All issues should be resolved promptly and without barriers. Based on specific cases, it is necessary to eliminate systemic problems, - concluded the akim of the region.
