The Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia officially opened a branch of KazNU in Omsk
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the branch of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the F.M. Omsk State University via videoconference.Dostoevsky.
During the ceremony, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Science of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky made presentations on cooperation in the field of science and higher education of the two countries.
Then the heads of state launched the opening of the university branch. The solemn event was also attended by Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev and Rector of OmSU Sergey Zamyatin.
Admission of applicants to the branch of the first Kazakh university in Russia is scheduled for September 2025. The governments of Kazakhstan and Russia have allocated 200 grants for student education.
The branch of KazNU will train bachelors and undergraduates in the specialties "International Law", "Kazakh Philology" and "Customs". In the future, it is planned to consider the implementation of double-degree educational programs.
The training will be conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English by the teaching staff of KazNU and OmSU, and it is also planned to attract foreign scientists.
Currently, 10 educational and methodological classrooms have been prepared and equipped, in particular, the offices of customs named after Chokan Valikhanov, Kazakh language named after Abai and international law named after Nazir Torekulov, 5 classrooms for management and teaching staff, 7 classrooms, as well as coworking centers.
