The XX International Exhibition "KAZTRAFFIC-2024" dedicated to the 65th anniversary of KazdorNII JSC has started in Astana today. The event was attended by representatives of 20 countries of the world, over 110 enterprises of the road industry. The specialists demonstrated modern road construction equipment and the latest materials for road construction.
At the opening ceremony, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev made an official speech, who stressed the importance of achieving record figures in the road industry:
"2024 has become a record year for Kazakhstan in terms of road repair work. 12 thousand kilometers of roads are covered throughout the country. This amount of work has not been achieved before. Of these, 8 thousand kilometers are republican roads, and 4 thousand kilometers are local. This year, the construction of a number of key infrastructure facilities was completed: the country's first tunnel at the Shakpak Baba pass, an overpass through the Shamalgan station, as well as the longest bridge over the Bukhtarma reservoir. The reconstruction of four major road projects, such as Karaganda–Almaty, Taldykorgan–Kalbatau-Ust-Kamenogorsk, Aktobe–Kandyagash and Atyrau–Astrakhan, with a total length of about 2 thousand kilometers, is being completed."
Also in his speech, the head of the transport department said that the reconstruction of the Kyzylorda - Zhezkazgan and Aktobe -Ulgaisyn highways has begun this year. In continuation of the development of the transport network of Kazakhstan, it is planned to implement new four–lane projects: "Karaganda - Zhezkazgan" and "Saryagash Bypass". In total, 12 new road projects with a total length of more than 4 thousand kilometers are planned to be implemented by 2029, which will strengthen the country's transit potential.
The exhibition "KAZTRAFFIC-2024" will last two days. The Central Asian International Conference "Roads of the Future" will also begin work within the framework of the exhibition, where prospects for the development of the region's road infrastructure will be discussed.
In addition, within the framework of this event, an international PIARC seminar will be held on the topic "The driving force of innovation: the potential of intelligent transport systems in modern road infrastructure", dedicated to the use of advanced technologies to improve road safety and efficiency.
The KAZTRAFFIC-2024 exhibition is an important platform for the exchange of experience, demonstration of innovative solutions and development of strategies for further development of the road industry.
