At the annual city competition among primary school students of Russian–speaking schools "Memlekettik til - mereim" in Sarani, participants demonstrated good knowledge of the Kazakh language.
The intellectual competition consisted of three stages. At first, the younger students presented themselves in the Kazakh language. The next tour included reading poetry about the Motherland. At the final stage, the contestants answered questions about Kazakhstan, which allowed them to evaluate their ability to express their thoughts freely in the Kazakh language.
– First of all, the jury evaluated the children's vocabulary, their ability to correctly pronounce specific sounds of the Kazakh language and confidence when speaking to an audience. The originality and creativity of the presentations were also taken into account," says Albina Nurmakhanova, Director of the Sarani Language Development Center. – This competition not only gives children the opportunity to open up, but is also a vivid example of the work of teachers. Such events serve as motivation for a full-fledged study of the state language. We see an increase in interest in the Kazakh language among both children and adults.
