A project for the construction of a new student dormitory has been launched at Satbayev University
A solemn ceremony of laying a time capsule with a message to descendants in the future, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university, marked the beginning of the construction of a new student dormitory, took place at Satbayev University.
– We plan to start construction of a new 9-storey dormitory with 955 beds, and in 2026 students will be able to take the keys from us and move in, – said Rishat Tynybekov, Director of the Construction Department of Satbayev University.
The new dormitory will be built within the framework of the state program "Five Social Initiatives" for the construction and provision of places for students in new dormitories, implemented with the support of JSC "Financial Center" and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project will be 100% funded by the investor "Forum Invest" and the developer "EPC Stroy Group" and has already received approval from the City Planning Council of Almaty.
The head of EPC Stroy Group, Yerlan Kozhikov, stressed that the company is glad to work with Satbayev University, as this is their contribution to the future of the country:
– We are ready to invest in providing future engineers with comfortable learning conditions. We will use environmentally friendly and energy–efficient materials, comply with all legislative norms on seismic resistance, and plan to put the hostel into operation in February 2026, - said E.Kozhikov.
The event was attended by representatives of all seven parties involved in the project: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Professor Ulykpan Sydykov, Professor Abdykappar Ashimov from the Council of Elders and the Council of Rectors of the University, head of the Youth Policy Department of the Akimat of Almaty Aziz Kazhenbek, Director of the office of Financial Center JSC in Almaty Ulan Utebayev, Baimbetova Dinara from the companyEPC Stroy Group", teachers and students.
– The Kazakh people have a sacred number – "zheti", which means "seven". Please note that this capsule was placed by representatives of seven different structures, and each of them knows that dormitories are incredibly important for students. So let our current efforts bring results and the new hostel will become a home for future generations, where the successors of Dos-Mukasan will grow and develop," Ulykpan Sydykov said in his speech.
The laying of the time capsule has become a symbol of the beginning of a new stage in the development of Satbayev University and its infrastructure. The new dormitory will provide comfortable conditions for students and help Satbayev University strengthen its status as a leading center for innovation and technical education in Kazakhstan.
