The Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and China discussed issues of strengthening bilateral strategic partnership
01.12.2024 19:05:51 2310Chengdu, December 1, 2024 – As part of the participation in the fifth meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Central Asia–China format, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi.
During the talks, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, reviewed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest and highest levels, and exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
The importance of joint efforts to enhance trade, economic, transit and transport cooperation and ensure energy security, as well as increase Kazakhstan's non-primary exports to China, was stressed. It was noted that the bilateral trade turnover in 10 months of this year reached a record figure of 36.5 billion US dollars, which is 11% higher than in the same period last year.
Special attention was also paid to issues of energy security, promotion of the green economy and further cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation. The Ministers discussed regional security, noting the importance of joint efforts in countering modern challenges, and expressed their readiness to strengthen stability in Central Asia.
Issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including the expansion of educational exchanges, support for scientific research and joint cultural events, were a separate item of the negotiations.
"Kazakhstan and China are not just neighbors, but also strategic partners who are able to jointly cope with the challenges of our time and ensure the sustainable development of the region," M. Nurtleu said.
Wang Yi, in turn, noted that China highly appreciates friendly relations with Kazakhstan and strives to further deepen them for the sake of mutual benefit and prosperity of both peoples.
This meeting was an important step towards strengthening the eternal comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China, opening up new prospects for long-term cooperation.
