The day before, the results of the II Republican Olympiad for students of rural schools in subjects of natural and mathematical direction were summed up. 486 schoolchildren took part in the final stage, 221 of them became prize-winners. These are schoolchildren from the most remote corners of our country.
Kanybek Bekbolatov, Chairman of the Secondary Education Committee, took part in the award ceremony.
"For the second year in a row, the Ministry of Education has been holding a republican Olympiad to identify talented and highly motivated rural schoolchildren. Last year, 78,000 participants registered for the first stage, but this year their number exceeded 113,000. This indicates a growing interest in intellectual competitions and the high status of the Olympiad. I congratulate you on your success and wish you new achievements on your educational path!" said the Chairman of the committee.
Diplomas in the nomination "The youngest participant of the Olympiad" were awarded to sixth graders Imran Kusanov from Pavlodar region and Tore Baltabayev from Kyzylorda region, who solved tasks for the 9th grade.
"I study in the 6th grade, but I participate in the Olympiad for the 9th grade. I like that there are many opportunities to study and learn new things in science in our country. I know that our state pays great attention to supporting talented children. We are being prepared for Olympiads and competitions, and the most successful are sent to international competitions. I also dream of becoming a part of the Olympic reserve, studying a lot and one day winning a gold medal for my country!" — shared Tore Baltabayev.
A total of 221 medals were awarded at the Olympics: 117 bronze, 62 silver and 42 gold.
The Republican Olympiad for students of rural schools is held in three stages in 13 subjects of natural-mathematical and social-humanitarian directions. 99,264 students participated in the school stage, of which 53,593 passed to the district stage. 12,000 schoolchildren competed in the regional stage, and about 1,000 participants reached the final. Of these, 486 took part in the Olympiad in natural sciences and mathematics, and 450 will participate in the Olympiad in social and humanitarian subjects, which will be held from December 10 to 14 in Astana.
The national teams of Kyzylorda, Turkestan and Mangistau regions were awarded diplomas of the first degree in the nomination "The best Olympic team".
The winners were awarded 8 rector's grants from the country's leading universities: 6 grants from SDU and 2 grants from Yassawi International University. In addition, all students of grades 9-10 who received first degree diplomas in mathematics, physics and computer science were granted grants to the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics of Almaty for study in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Recall that all participants of the final stage were enrolled in the republican correspondence school "Daryn" to prepare for the next intellectual competitions. Also, holders of I degree diplomas will take part in the final stage of the republican Olympiad in general education subjects, which will be held in March 2025.
