In the Almaty region, the Otegen Batyr village youth sports school hosted an international open jiu-jitsu tournament among teenagers - Sagadat Batyr, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hero of the Soviet Union, National Hero of Kazakhstan Sagadat Nurmagambetov.
More than 400 athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan aged from 4 to 13 years took part. Such honored guests as Colonel General Sat Tokpakbayev, Olympic champion Vasily Zhirov and daughter of Sagadat Nurmagambetov Aisulu Nurmagambetova, the holder of the title "Halyk Kaharmany", watched the fights of young jitters.
The main goal of the tournament is to preserve the historical memory of Kazakhstani heroes of Victory, popularize sports and a healthy lifestyle.
