THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND ROSPOTREBNADZOR HAVE AGREED TO INTENSIFY COOPERATION IN A NUMBER OF AREAS

Today, in Astana, within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan, Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova met with the Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation Anna Popova.
The agenda of the meeting discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population and the further vector of interaction in this important area.
The parties noted that the two neighboring states have a long-standing strong and trusting partnership in the field of healthcare. And besides, they are connected by a single epidemiological space, these are cross-border outbreaks of plague, the threat of dangerous infectious diseases and vaccine-controlled infections.
"After the pandemic, various biological risks, such as new infections and biohazards, pose a special threat, therefore, issues of sanitary and epidemiological well-being require joint efforts," the head of the Ministry of Health stressed.
During the meeting, agreements were reached on cooperation in a number of the following areas:
* ensuring biological safety;
* Preparedness and response to sanitary and epidemiological emergencies;
* Cooperation on immunization and laboratory diagnostics of polio, measles and rubella, and influenza;
* joint research and development of diagnostic test systems, immunobiological drugs;
* Training of sentinel laboratory specialists in the containment of antimicrobial resistance;
* exchange of experience on the prevention of harmful effects of environmental factors on humans, food safety, technical regulation and radiation safety.
As a result of the implementation of the proposed initiatives, countries expect to increase the level of sanitary and epidemiological safety, effectively prevent the spread of infectious diseases and improve the general health of the population.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to expand cooperation within the framework of existing agreements, as well as to establish an exchange of experience and resources to solve key tasks in the field of sanitary safety and epidemiology.
