By order of the Akim of East Kazakhstan region, in coordination with the administration of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan and deputies of the district maslikhat, Meirzhan Albekov was appointed akim of Kurchum district.
He is a native of the East Kazakhstan region. In 2011, he graduated from Semipalatinsk State Pedagogical University, in 2015-the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. K. Zhurgenev, in 2021-the Almaty Academy of Economics and statistics.
He started his career in 2010. At different times, he worked as director of the state enterprise "Daryn", head of the Department of culture, language development, Physical Culture and sports, deputy akim of the district, as well as Akim of the Tavriya rural district of Ulansky district. Since December 2023, he has held the position of Deputy akim of Kurchum district.
The head of the region noted that the new mayor faces large-scale tasks to develop the infrastructure, socio-economic and tourist potential of the Kurchum district.
