The Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved the standard ST RK 3988-2024 "Catering services. Delivery of catering products according to consumer orders. General Requirements", which will enter into force on January 1, 2025. The standard was developed by the Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology.
"The application of this standard will ensure transparency and unification of requirements in the market for the delivery of public catering products, increase consumer confidence in the services provided and help strengthen the food security system in the Republic of Kazakhstan," said Zhanna Yesenbekova, Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology.
For example, according to the standard, couriers must have a personal medical record of the established sample with a note on passing medical examinations, undergo professional hygiene training, and must be guided by generally accepted norms and rules of conduct.
In addition, when delivering catering products to consumers at the location specified in the order and at the pick-up points, it should be possible to check the products for external damage to the packaging during transportation.
The adopted standard is designed to improve the quality of food delivery services by restaurants, cafes, logistics companies and couriers. It should be noted that the standard is voluntary.
