In Astana, utilities are working around the clock to remove snow. More than 38 thousand cubic meters of snow were removed from the city during the day, the official website of the Mayor's office of the capital reports.
From January 5 to January 6, 337 road workers and 1,206 units of special equipment went on the night shift to clean the streets of the city. 38,602 cubic meters of snow were removed from the city during the day.
Since the beginning of the winter season, 2,352,714 cubic meters of snow have been transported from the capital on 178,098 flights.
First of all, according to the rules, places with very heavy traffic are cleared to avoid traffic jams. Areas of moderate intensity are also being cleaned – squares, station areas, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
The cleaning of central streets, passenger transport routes, bus stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow training grounds in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading vehicle license plates, video surveillance cameras and lighting.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, observe safety regulations, and do not travel long distances if there is a storm warning.
