A large-scale meeting organized by the police of the regional department took place at the Zhastar Sarayy cultural center.
The event brought together more than a thousand students and students of the city. Before the main program, the participants visited an exhibition where special equipment, a forensic laboratory and military weapons were presented.
— We decided to show how our service works, what tools we use in the fight against drug crime. It is important that young people understand the scale of the problem and know that they can become part of it," said Colonel Nurbol Saden, Deputy head of the Kostanay region Police Department.
The main attention was paid to the issues of drug crime and crime prevention among young people. The discussion was attended by Deputy akim of Kostanay region Rinat Mukhametkaliyev, deputy of the regional maslikhat Mahabbat Zhutaev, psychologist-narcologist of the Kostanay Regional Mental Health Center Gulsum Bisimbayeva, as well as honored para-powerlifting coach Dmitry Tsarenko.
During the open discussion, students actively asked questions about what measures are being taken to combat drugs and what could be threatened for this.
— It is important for us that students are aware of the consequences of drugs. Everyone should know that drugs are not only a health risk, but also big problems with the law," said Rinat Mukhametkaliyev, Deputy Akim of Kostanay region.
The winners of the "Best Anti-drug Video" competition were also awarded at the event. Of the thirty declared works, the police marked the best. Bekzat Kubzhasarov, a student of Kostanay Higher College of Kazpotrebsoyuz, took the third place, Chingiz Sheldebayev, a student of Kostanay College of Humanities, took the second place, and Konstantin Shcherbinin, also a student of the College of Humanities, took the first place. All the winners received memorable gifts.
— We at the college actively support the participation of students in such competitions. It is important that young people not only talk about problems, but also look for ways to solve them," said Konstantin Shcherbinin, the winner of the competition.
The students also watched instructive videos that explained how the desire for "easy" money through social media can lead to drug crimes and imprisonment. At the end of the event, the police demonstrated their strength skills in a demonstration performance, and also showed the work of the Belgian shepherd Tesla, which specializes in drug search.
Students could try to hide drug simulators, and Tesla could easily find them.
— It was really amazing! We couldn't even imagine how a dog could find drugs so accurately and quickly," one of the participants shared his impressions.
There were also musical compositions that symbolized a bright future without drugs. This left the students with a sense of responsibility for their lives and a desire to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The event has become important for the youth of Kostanay, raising issues of social responsibility and drug addiction prevention among the younger generation.
