On the hundredth year, Raisa Egorovna Safonicheva, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, who lived in the Sharapat Social Service Center of the capital's akimat, passed away.
The funeral rally was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the city maslikhat, veterans' organizations, the Sharapat social institution and the great-grandson of the deceased Vitaly Smirnov.
Those present honored the memory of Raisa Egorovna Safonicheva with a minute of silence. Maslikhat deputy Askar Smagulov, head of the Department of Employment and Social Protection Ilya Skuba, chairmen of the city Council of Veterans Sansyzbai Yesilov and the Astana branch of the NGO "Veterans of the Armed Forces, Aviation Major General Alsai Jumanov, shared their memories of her.
It should be recalled that Raisa Safonicheva joined the 2nd Ukrainian Front in 1943 after completing short-term communication courses in Minsk. She traveled along military roads from Kiev to Budapest, where she celebrated Victory Day.
The military work of Raisa Egorovna Safonicheva was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II Degree, medals For the Liberation of Ukraine, For the Victory over Germany and other awards. Last year, for her contribution to the military-patriotic education of the younger generation, she was awarded the Order of Aibyn III degree.
Raisa Egorovna was regularly visited by military personnel of the Ministry of Defense, the National Military-Patriotic Center of the Armed Forces and pupils of the children's and youth movement "Zhas Sarbaz".
The farewell ceremony with her was accompanied by a company of honor guards, observing military rituals.
For Raisa Egorovna, Victory Day was the main holiday. Unfortunately, she did not live to see the anniversary date to which she was directly related, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her and communicated with her.
