A scheme for landscaping the South-East and Maikuduk has been developed in Karaganda.Mayor of the city Meiram Kozhukhov told what is planned to be done at a meeting on the development of the regional center chaired by the head of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.
– A scheme for the improvement of the South-East and Maikuduk has been developed jointly with the Urbanism Center. This plan will reflect pedestrian lines, empty spaces where it is necessary to restore order, such as benches, urns, small architectural forms, and sidewalks," said Meiram Kozhukhov.
In addition, landscaping of courtyards and squares, as well as landscaping, will continue.
In terms of landscaping, the emphasis is on the program "Budget of public participation", which has shown its effectiveness. This year, its funding has been tripled, and 65 projects proposed and selected by the residents themselves are planned to be implemented in the city.
Landscaping of the Sary-Arka park will continue in the South-East. The current renovation of the square along Shakhterov Avenue is planned.
Kuzembayev squares and Staleliteynaya Street will be put in order in the Alikhan Bokeikhan area.
The city center will also not be ignored. It is necessary to complete the development of the pedestrian zone on Bukhar-Zhyrau Avenue, the reconstruction of the square in front of the K. Stanislavsky Theater.
Meiram Kozhukhov also spoke about plans to reconstruct Cascade Square and replace the fountain with a new light and music fountain.
The implementation of the Smart Traffic Light system will continue for road safety. The mayor of the city said that the necessary equipment is expected and the system will be fully operational this year.
– Our task is to add more recreation and walking areas to the regional center. Also, improve vacant areas along roads, in courtyards, and on central streets. The expectations of the residents are high, and we must meet them. Together we must make the city more comfortable, modern and livable," said Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.
