On January 10, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting with German representatives of Dena (Deutsche Energie-Agentur), where key issues in the field of energy policy, urban planning and energy efficiency were discussed.
During the meeting, a dialogue on energy issues was held, during which the participants discussed prospects and current challenges in this area. Special attention was paid to the development and implementation of an interactive map designed to improve planning and analysis in the field of energy efficiency.
The German legislative experience was also reviewed, especially in the context of creating effective regulations for energy conservation and sustainable construction. German experts presented recommendations on a strategy for the implementation of decarbonization goals, emphasizing the importance of combining several approaches to achieve the goals of the Energy Concept. In particular, attention was focused on the need to develop reliable administrative regulations that create a stable legislative framework.
Special attention was paid to the Law on Energy Efficiency in Buildings (GEG 2024), which regulates the energy quality of both new and existing buildings, including during their modernization.
In addition, the possibilities of implementing the Felicity II Project aimed at improving energy infrastructure, as well as the creation of a Project Office, were discussed.
The parties expressed interest in further deepening cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, sustainable construction and international energy projects.
