The President signed a law on the Keleshek State Educational Accumulative System
The Head of State signed the Law "On Amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issues of the State educational accumulative system, elimination of excessive legislative regulation in the fields of information, social development, culture and archival affairs."
The first set of amendments was developed with the aim of introducing a single voluntary funded system "Keleshek", which provides for initial educational capital from the state, annual payment of a state premium, and investment income, covering children from the age of five.
The one-time initial educational capital will be credited to children who turn 5 in 2025 and in subsequent years in the amounts that will be provided for by the Rules for Calculating, Using, and Returning Initial educational Capital approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Together with the current system of the State Educational Accumulative System, which provides for an annual state bonus of 5%, and for children from socially vulnerable categories of the population – in the amount of 7%, the Keleshek system will allow to accumulate funds that can be used to receive technical and vocational, post-secondary, higher and postgraduate education, as well as to improve housing conditions.
