As part of a working trip to Stepnogorsk, Akim of the Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov visited the Mining and Technical College. The head of the region got acquainted with the equipment of the laboratories, talked with teachers, craftsmen and students.
The laboratory equipment, which is close to the production conditions, was purchased under the Zhas Maman program and at the expense of social partners. So, in 2022, AK Altynalmas JSC provided laboratory equipment for student training.
"The President declared 2025 the Year of Working Professions. This will introduce changes to the regulatory framework and expand benefits for specialists in working professions. We will provide personalized grants for college graduates who want to get higher education," Marat Akhmetzhanov emphasized.
According to the director of the college, Elena Tarasova, about 500 students study at the educational institution in 10 specialties, 40% of them – under targeted contracts with further employment, another 146 – on dual training.
"Our task is to train a specialist who wants to work and understands the benefits of his work. One third of college graduates receive higher education, and over 80% find jobs without any problems. This indicates a high level of training and the demand for working specialties," said Elena Tarasova.
