Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Nariman Toregaliyev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov and veterans of the Armed Forces took part in the solemn opening of the new facilities of the military unit 99250 of the Armed Forces.
Lieutenant General Sultan Kamaletdinov noted the importance of this event in terms of increasing combat readiness and strengthening the country's defense capability.
– Today we can clearly see how the President's instructions on improving the infrastructure of the defense department are being implemented. Territorial defense plays an important role in the system of military organization of the State, designed to ensure the protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The completion of the first stage of construction of the brigade's facilities is the result of close cooperation between our ministry and local executive bodies," he stressed.
To mark the opening of new facilities, the honored guests of the event cut a symbolic ribbon and inspected new buildings and structures.
At the initial stage, the headquarters of the military unit, two barracks, a checkpoint, a parade ground and access roads were put into operation.
According to the commander of the territorial defense brigade, Colonel Rasul Zakirov, in the future it is planned to build educational and sports buildings, a canteen, a club, warehouses and the development of a technical territory.
It should also be noted that according to the results of the combat competition among the air defense units, military unit 99250 took the first place for two years in a row. In the spring of 2024, the personnel of the territorial defense brigade of the West Kazakhstan region were involved in flood control measures. In the fight against the water element, the soldiers of the unit performed heavy physical work, erecting man-made dams from sandbags, and assisted the population during the evacuation. It was during this period that the unity of the military with the people was especially pronounced.
