Deputy Akim of the region Nurbol Turashbekov held a meeting on preparations for spring field work. This year, it is planned to increase the acreage by 37,000 hectares and bring it to 906,000 hectares.
According to Alibek Plalov, deputy head of the department, 58,000 hectares of cotton will be sown this year to increase yields through the introduction of new technologies. Practice shows that the use of modern technologies saves water, fertilizers and labor resources, and yields reach 60 quintals per hectare (2.5 times higher than the average). Meetings are held among farmers to explain the benefits of technology.
At the moment, 51% of the land in the region has been plowed. 25,000 pieces of equipment are used for field work. Agricultural enterprises have 12,000 tractors, 1,000 seeders, 554 plows and 1,000 rippers at their disposal.
Nurbol Turashbekov instructed to step up work on the introduction of water-saving technologies on an additional 47,000 hectares, taking into account the potential of districts and cities. He also demanded to draw up a list of possible problems that could delay the implementation of major investment projects and take measures to prevent them within the framework of the law.
