During their working trip to the Almaty garrison, the majilismen visited the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, as well as the Department of Defense of Almaty.
Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security of the Mazhilis of Parliament Aigul Kuspan and Deputy Aidos Sarym got acquainted with the educational and material base of the military university and the social conditions created for cadets and conscripts.
As the deputies noted, such meetings help them to check the effectiveness of the norms they adopt and find out what is required to improve legislation.
– It is planned to introduce amendments to a number of legislative acts in January and February. We have arrived to listen to the opinion of the military personnel and discuss key issues requiring legislative settlement," Aidos Sarym clarified the purpose of the visit.
The deputies spoke in detail about the amendments to the legislation aimed at improving the preparation of citizens for military service and improving the quality of military personnel training. These changes, which were agreed upon at meetings of the working groups of the Mazhilis and the Government, will be included in the new version of the Law "On Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel" in 2025.
During the meeting, issues of social adaptation of military personnel upon retirement, quoting diplomas and the demand for military specialties in the civil service were also discussed.
They also discussed the patronage of students from schools in the Auezovsky and Nauryzbay districts of Almaty. The deputies noted that the educational component should be supported by the broad involvement of schoolchildren in club activities.
During a visit to the Department of Defense of Almaty, the parliamentarians discussed the issues of digitalization of the accounting system for quantitative and qualitative data on conscripts, military personnel and mobilization resources. Topics related to conscription and the improvement of the system for selecting soldiers and candidates for military service under contract were also touched upon.
